Day 1: Arrival in Beaune optional 25 km
Upon your arrival in Beaune, we will meet at our headquarters where we'll provide you with your trip package and fit you on your bikes. Depending on your arrival time, you may have time already for a short warm-up ride, heading to the Grand Cru vineyards of Corton and Corton Charlemagne, and passing in front of the pretty chateaux of Aloxe-Corton and Ladoix-Serrigny... For sure you will have time to wander the medieval streets of Beaune, its ramparts, the Collegial church of Notre Dame with its 15th century tapestries, and have a drink in one of the many cafes on the main square!
Dinner tonight is included in a gourmet restaurant.

Day 2: The Saone River plains and the Chardonnay Kingdom 40 or 54 km
Today you'll cycle through pretty fields of canola and sunflowers, spotted with small farming villages and large stone, farmhouses, of the Saone River plains. There is a long option all the way to the Saone River itself, where you can lunch on the riverbank. The ride is nice and flat all day long, and then curves back in towards the famous vineyards of Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet, charming villages who make the best white wines in the world! This evening you'll be able to taste for yourself, during your wine tasting dinner at a Domaine in the village of Puligny, where over the delicious regional meal you'll be able to taste up to 10 different wines - comparing the "terroirs" that are so unique to Burgundy! ... a nice way to learn a bit more about the wine!

Day 3: Loop Ride: The Canal du Centre 44 km
Your ride today takes you southward, first through Chassagne Montrachet and the end of the Cote de Beaune, and then along the tranquil and pretty Canal du Centre, into the Cote Chalonnaise, and return. The Cote Chalonnais wine region lies just to the south of the Côte de Beaune. Away from the ambitious pricing of the Côte d'Or, some producers, in villages like Rully, are turning out respectable Chardonnay and tasty Pinot Noir for a fraction of the prices these wines might fetch further north. Be sure as well to taste here the sparkling Cremant de Bourgogne, made in the same way and with the same grape varieties as the more renowned Champagne to the north, but again at much more affordable prices! The relaxing terrain and small villages make for great riding.

Day 4: Back to Beaune with optional rides 13 or 42 km
En route back to Beaune you can go via the Hautes Cotes de Beaune and visit the 17th century Castle of La Rochepot. If you've gone up that way, be sure to picnic at the top of Saint Romain 's cliffs... A shorter option through the famous vineyards of Pommard and Volnay are also available, leaving you time to do the first day's option if you didn't arrive early enough to do it. You will be in Beaune in time for your private tour of the incredible Hospices de Beaune, a hospital for the poor, built in 1443 by the chancellor of the Duke of Burgundy, and one of the most beautiful buildings in the region. Your final dinner this evening is included at one of our favourite restaurants.
